The core of our work is as a resource cum research organisation disseminating information, and facilitating multi-sectoral dialogue and engagement. As part of our research effort HRF reviews and monitors government plans and policies, schemes, budgetary allocations and functioning of public institutions and laws for the promotion of grassroots democracy.
The Foundation works to promote the educational, economic, and cultural well being and welfare of the people of India and to work for the promotion and protection of human rights and sustainable development especially those of disadvantaged and invisibilsed communities, irrespective of caste, creed, race, community or religion.
The Foundation provides legal, strategic, and moral support to individuals and groups towards asserting their human rights and to gain redress from the state and private institutions.
Children’s Voices for Human Rights
To enhance the knowledge of child rights defenders, we bring in quarterly magazine named ” Children’s Voices for Human Rights ” in Tamil language making it easy even for the common man to know about different views put forth by various scholars, fact finding reports, recent developments and important judgements related to child rights issues.
Voices for Custodial Justice
Most of the population affected due to custodial injustice is poor, marginalized, minorities, dalits and adivasis. With intent to educate the above said population and to strengthen human rights defenders about recent developments regarding custodial laws, judgements expert’s opinion articles and critiques HRF bring out this magazine in Tamil language once in three months.
Voice of local government representatives
To enhance the knowledge of defenders and panchayat presidents, we bring out a quarterly magzine named ‘voice of local government representatives’ in Tamil language making it easy even for the common man to know about different views put forth by various scholars, fact finding reports, recent developments and important judgements related to local government issues. Apart from this direct issues of local government, globalization and its impacts, environment issues, budget etc., and also explained to panchayat presidents.
